Helmet Sizing

How to Fit Your Bauer Hockey Helmet Correctly

Wearing a properly fitted helmet is one of the most important parts of player safety. It ensures not only protection from impacts but also maximum comfort and visibility during play.

Follow this 3-step fitting process to make sure your Bauer helmet fits correctly every time.

Step 1: Start with the Right Position

  • Open your helmet to its largest setting (use the adjustment tabs or tool-free mechanism depending on your model).
  • Place the helmet squarely on your head — the front should sit just above your eyebrows.
  • The ideal position is when the front edge of the helmet is about one finger width above your brows

Step 2: Adjust for a Snug, Secure Fit

  • With the helmet on, slide the front and back portions together until the helmet feels comfortably snug all around your head.
  • It should be tight enough that it doesn’t wobble when you shake your head — but not so tight that it causes discomfort or pressure points.
  • If your helmet uses tool-free side clips or dial systems (like the RE-AKT models), adjust those until you feel secure.

Tip: Try nodding your head up and down — if the helmet shifts or lifts, tighten it slightly more.

Step 3: Lock it in Place

  • Once the fit feels good, tighten the rear adjustment mechanism or lock the sizing tabs in place.
  • Double check the fit: Chin strap is snug (but not choking), Cage (if attached) lines up with your facial structure, Helmet stays in place with movement.
  • The ideal position is when the front edge of the helmet is about one finger width above your brows.

Certification & Safety Compliance

All Bauer helmets sold at [Your Store Name] meet internationally recognized safety standards.

Look for these stickers inside the helmet shell:

  • CSA (Canada)
  • HECC (USA)
  • CE (Europe)

These certifications ensure the helmet has been lab-tested for impact resistance and meets the necessary safety requirements for organized play.
